British Academy Games Awards telah mengumumkan pemenang tahun 2014 untuk semua kategori dimana Naughty Dog berjaya dengan memenangkan lima penghargaan dari sepuluh nominasi yang didapatkannya dengan game mereka, The Last of Us.
Sedangkan Rockstar mendapatkan sembilan nominasi untuk Grand Theft Auto V yang berhasil memenangkan penghargaan untuk Game Design, Best British Game 2014 dan Multiplayer. Tidak hanya itu, Rockstar juga mendapatkan Fellowship Award yang diserahkan oleh Hideo Kojima. Developer-developer yang sebelumnya mendapatkan Fellowship Award di antaranya adalah Gabe Newell, Peter Molyneux, Shigeru Miyamoto, Nolan Bushnell, dan Will Wright.
Tahun ini, BAFTA membuka upacara Games Awards terbuka untuk umum. Para pengunjung pun bisa mencoba game-game yang akan datang dalam acara pre-show Inside Games Arcade. Acara ini juga menampilkan pembicaraan dari developer dan desainer.
